Attorneys in the Marital & Family Law Practice Group counsel and represent clients in mediation, trial and appellate proceedings on the complex issues arising from family relations and dissolution of marriage. Specific issues of child custody, visitation/timeshare, relocation, child support, adoption, health insurance, child care, alimony, equitable distribution of marital and non-marital assets and debts, attorneys fees and costs, taxation, domestic and repeat violence, restraining orders, freezing of assets and asset production, all issues falling within the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act, including child abduction and URESA are all matters regularly addressed by members of this Practice Group.
In addition, the Marital & Family Law Practice Group attorneys handle post-judgment matters including the prosecution and defense of modification actions for child support, alimony and child custody. Clients are counseled as to litigation, mediation, courtroom procedures and decorum, marital settlement agreements, mediation agreements, prenuptial agreements and all relevant areas of marital and family law and the litigation process.
Children’s rights are a high priority for this Practice Group and its attorneys are heavily involved in all facets of children’s rights and educational issues. The Group’s members provide counsel to policymakers in all areas of child dependency matters, adoption, child advocacy rights and juvenile law. Attorneys in this Group are regularly appointed by family law judges to represent the rights of children. In addition to the significant trial and appellate experience of the attorneys in this Practice Group, these attorneys are actively involved in mediation of family law and domestic relations disputes. Attorneys in this Group mediate family law disputes throughout South Florida.
